Celtic Woman Lancaster Concert reviews
Just OK
My wife and I have seen Celtic Woman numerous times. This particular concert had been postponed for 2 years because of Covid, naturally. During this time CW lost their iconic violinist; her replacement was competent, but lacked the fire we had come to expect. Chloe Agnew returned, which was good, but in all honesty, her voice has matured. I could easily see her crossover into country music, her voice has more rasp, but it does not ring like a crystal bell like it did back in the original CW days. Also, some of the lighting was intensely bright, with broken up shafts of disco ball-like beams of light that were extremely harsh and blinding. It was like being in the path of a landing jet or police searchlight. Another problem was the allowing of late arrivals to take their seats, requiring prompt attendees to get up and move out into the aisles to allow the tardy to work their way in, DURING THE SONGS! This went on throughout the show. The policy should be that tardy guests must wait until a break in the performance. An usher brought an entire group of 5 down to about row 5, everyone got up, but apparently it was the wrong side, so they all went back up the aisle. Very distracting.
